1. Connection Over Posing
Stiff, frozen posing is what creates awkward photos. When you're told to stand still and stare at a camera lens, it can be hard to relax and let yourself smile naturally.
Instead, we focus on interactive movements.
- How it works: Instead of standing still, I’ll have you walk together, spin each other, whisper the funniest thing your partner has ever done into their ear, or do a drunk walk while walking.
- The Result: You aren't focusing on my calmer, you’re focusing on each other! When you’re moving, laughing, and interacting naturally, the camera catches real emotion, real smiles with the little eye squints that says you mean it, and lovey dove looks at each other.
2. Anchoring into Each Other
When nerves kick in, body language can get stiff and arms hang awkwardly or fingers start fidgeting.
Physical touch instantly grounds your energy:
- Interlock fingers: Gives your hands a natural "home" and signals to your brain that you're safe and supported.
- Wrap your arms close and sway: Pulling your partner in breaks physical space and eliminates stiff gaps.
- Rest a head on a shoulder: A simple lean-in creates instant, cozy intimacy.
Anchoring yourself to your partner melts tension away, letting your body language reflect deep, and feel your natural connection.
3. Setting the Vibe Before Shoot Day
Nerves thrive in awkward silence, which is why we never shoot in a quiet room.
Before session day, you’ll fill out a fun Date Night Questionnaire over a glass of wine or bourbon to share your favorite artists, road-trip jams, and inside jokes. On shoot day, we'll blast your custom playlist to instantly melt away tension, break the ice, and create a space where you can let your guard down and just be yourselves!
